yep, there are even days where i would pick in waves over shogun for no reason other than it gets me more on that cathartic, visceral level. i often have to ignore the overly-mythical lyrical content off Shogun and just enjoy the riffs and most of the time that's not what i prefer. at least that's got compelling enough musicianship to make up for it, this just kinda doesn't hit.

Thanks for all the recommendations (made all the way back on page 2...).
I got a kick out of this offering for sure, and I consider it to be the most concentrated and solid Trivium have managed to sound since Shogun.
However, I think I ultimately side with nash1311's case (also made all the way back on page 2...):
There are no "WOW!" moments here.
Album's solid and all, but... I miss tracks like "Of Prometheus...", "Like Light..." and "Pull Harder...".
