Biggs lyrics and delivery just don't hold a candle to Jake's at all for me and the guy seems like a bit of a fuckhead. Andy is the best part of the single by 8,000 miles and the only thing really keeping me interested in this band. Song is pretty repetitive but ite.

I hope the new album is good but it just feels like a completely different project now and not in a good way

The latest track was fantastic. The others were good but nothing special. I’m holding out hope

Yeah Jake was a POWERHOUSE and his voice was like none other. Feels missing still.

@Jizz what's the word, why is he a fuckhead?
edit: Oh no, I forgot all about this and didn't look into it previously. He's like The Contortionist's guitar player: tons of problematic Twitter likes of bigoted/conservative shit.
----
"Allow me to first say that I'm in no way a bigot and I support the rights of people from all walks of life, absolutely including friends and fans in the LGBTQ+ community. I've never equated a 'like' as an endorsement of any viewpoint. I use Twitter as a means of keeping my eye on a VAST array of ideas, especially ones separate from my own, as an artist I believe this is an important practice. I like these posts as a way of keeping my timeline from being an echo chamber. I'm no fan of hate mongering celebrity figures either (people like Andrew Tate are clearly horrible), but I do constantly try to understand all sorts of views."
....he said, while liking questionable posts from Andrew Tate. Big difference between following someone and liking a specific post, which you don't just do thoughtlessly if the contents of the post are abhorrent to you.

Hot take, honestly my favorite track since this album has been Hellbirds

...
that's probably the worst take I've seen in 10+ years on this site. Wow that take is so hot I can't even get close to it
But I'm obsessed with this album so I'm kind of a black sheep myself so whatever

@Nomos yeah it's not enough for me to crucify the guy or not be able to stomach listening to any of the music, just a bit sus y'know. Bit fuckheadish. Reads more as not very bright than any kind of malicious but eyebrow raising enough that I'm like yah nah. Much like the Contortionist guitarist too yeah.
|
| |
yeah that's true, I even met the guy when I bought merch from him once. Hanlon's Razor baby: presume ignorance before malice. Hard to arrive there in today's sociopolitical climate though.

Honestly Art I should give this album another chance. I started it the first time while at the airport coming down off 4 days of acid and M at a festival and my brain was in a funny place. That's all music I guess, first impressions are everything and your temperamental mood can affect that greatly. I will probably enjoy this a lot now.
