It's solid, sounds a lot like this album.

Yeah that's a 3

This certainly is dangerously near to 3.0 territory. One of my least favourite Ulver records for sure.

Who else really dislikes Garm on Grieghallen? Didn't know it was possible, but don't like his singing style there at all.

not a huge fan of garm's singing here in general, and that is normally one of the best parts about ulver!

I like him still on the studio albums, although not as much as on older ones, but that new live one (Grieghallen) really gives me the shivers. In a bad way.

It IS indeed normally one of the best parts about Ulver. Kind of actually really non-jokingly fell in love with his voice or something. That's why I'm so confused about this development! 💫😵

First time listening to this (haven't heard Assassination yet). Some nice parts here, like the piano/guitar/sfx on Thousand Cuts, Machine Guns, Hour of the Wolf. Not entirely getting into it, though. Rygg's vocals are a bit one-note and the lyrics strike me as on-the-nose and clumsy. Thousand Cuts is probably the most egregious offender there.

I like the cover art itself, but I think it's a poor match for the sound. Greyscale visuals tend to make their music a bit duller for me, not sure why (same for Wars, Messe, Zodiac).

I have to for sure! I liked that Fearful Symmetry video I saw not too long ago. I was surprised when Little Boy came on while listening to Flowers just now.

Crazy this has a higher average than Liminal, that’s a far better album. This is alright but it’s a steep dip after Assassination and there’s much more to sink your teeth into on the next one.

Liminal is better agreed, but I do love this.
