Einar was sick but his performance (even then) was even sicker! You could see that they chose few more falsetto songs than on other days of tour. Anyway, I can die in peace now as they finally played Slave live (the crowd demanded it so hard since before the show even started, you could hear people talking about how amazing it would be to hear it). I'm kinda sad they skipped by my throne and at the bottom but performance was lit anyway.
The ocean also crushed their set, Loic has gotten much better since the last time I've seen them in March this time hitting all hard spots perfectly. I happened to be under him when he jumped in which was nice, what I didn't like was the fact I brought wrong shoes with me and trying to save my toes in pogo that happened during Bathyapelagic was quite a challange.
Port Noir... well, I'd lie if I said I enjoyed that part of the concert. They weren't bad but painfully average. After hearing first 3 songs I decided to move to the smoking room while it's still relatively empty

I think Port Noir‘s first album is decent, but I didn‘t really like what I heard from their new stuff.
Anyway, seeing them all in a few hours and I‘m hyyyyped

Enjoy man. I was pleasantly surprised at how proficient they all are as performers

I'm not the biggest fan of the direction they chose here but their show last week was absolutely killer, one of the best live bands, really. Sadly, we didn't get Slave in Prague, but we got The Valley, which was cool.
Also, The Sky Is Red is a monumental closer.

Bumping this. Album gets better every time I hear it, to the point where this is getting close to Bilateral as my favorite of them. Pretty much every song I can listen to without context and have a great time with.

Dunno how anyone can hear the last 3 minutes of At The Bottom or the climax on Distant Bells and think this is anything but at least a 4

I would have given this a 4 (this choir/background sining/hey hey hey stuff.... doesnt do it for me), but I saw them live in Zurich and the concert was absoeffinglutely fantastic. I think live the sound was a bit less centered on Einar's vocals (which I love, of course) but gave a little more room to the other musicians, compared to the studio album. Also, I find the ending of The Sky is Red to be one of the sickest outros ever made. Sends shivers down my spine every single time. Also, they didnt fuck up the Massive Attack cover on the extended version (it's actually great).

The hey heys are awesome though.
Yeah the outro to The Sky is Red was heavy af and the song as a whole was really intense live. The upgraded light show and the way they stood on stage made it even better visually.
I love how many atmospheric elements they incorporated in that Massive Attack cover. Thought they would go more towards that direction with this album tbh.

I am not a Leprous expert, but I really like the amount of violins and classical stuff
also, can we please appreciate the fan service they do by selling 2x 180g vinyl, including a CD (instead of some filthy download code for stupid mp3) for 20 Euros?

This album is going to age like fine wine. Every time I listen to it, it just gets better. The Sky Is Red is top 5 Leprous.

yeah, just bumped it up to 4.5 - maybe I like it that much because I wasn't really digging their earlier stuff and this is such a great progressive rock album.

For me, it's the only album this year that gets better as time goes on

It takes a few listens. I think the more of a fan you were before this album, the more listens it takes to get into this one. That's what it seems like, anyway.
