Such a fascinating song, I couldn’t get into it the first time I listened, then a few days later tried again with headphones and it really clicked. I love that the Coyote/Coffins on Io bass tone is back too, sounds so good. Very much want to hear the rest of the new one cause who knows what it’ll sound like.

I absolutely adore songs with a stark contrast in instrumentation - the aggressive drums and harsh vocals against those huge, warm synth pads is so lush and sad and I love it

Definitely the best out of the singles

I'm a simple person: Coffins of IO gets mentioned, I'm jumping on whatever it is IMMEDIATELY

This one is good but one main problem I have is the lack of bass. Thankfully it sounds like that’ll be rectified on the new one.

i like this one fine

feel like I could convince myself that any Kayo Dot album is the best thing ever if I dip deep enough into, just a consistently depthy band. drums on this might be a hindrance though, I'm a Dowsing Anemone fan and it's a foundational 5 to me and that one was full of cool fills which could bookend or hide the beat, here it's more functional

i love the proclamative bardy vocals on this though, bring on the pretense i don't care

He sounds like King Diamond for a moment in Spectrum lol. Probably my favorite track so far.

And I thought Mastodon's was dense, phew.

i feel like the new one is the final form that proclamative bardy Driver was kinda clutching and cringing at on this and mmm shit goes
finishing rev mayb ugh

Not sure if this is really on the real Spirit of Kayo given the name they chose from, however if this is so, it makes this a blasphemous effort , have they not turned the wheel aside, no more dots, winters slippery

Yeah the new one is interesting but idk its either gonna be a grower, or fall into a similar category as this. Has its moments but still doesn't hit w much immediacy. Starting to think Coyote and BLD are really works of genius now though.

I know I’m in the minority, but also a lot of cool users like Yoyomancuso, animalsassummit, Winesburgohio, and others feel the same way as me. Unless they think Blasphemy is less than a 2.5.
