I can totally get them not having an effect on the youngsters now but they were a phenom back then A jugganaught and with no Social media and such they all still had this mystique in a way. Vulgar videos was your window in and everyone loved that shit, I played that every weekend. Great times. I barely EVER listen to them now though. Its more a nostalgia thing.

At the end of the day, a lot of stuff is "time and place"
Dunno if I'd feel the same about them if I would've only encountered the band now. I'm kinda prone to nostalgia.

For me the fact that I listened to Pantera so much in HS has actually negatively affected my enjoyment of them... a lot of it just reminds me what an angry, stupid kid I was back then.

Yeah these guys were definitely a big middle/high school band for me (this came Out when I was in like, 7th or 8th grade I would say). I still listen to this occasionally as it’s my favorite Pantera but haven’t revisited their other albums in awhile.

I can still fuck with some stuff from CFH and I still think Trendkill is criminally underapreciated but honestly NOLA is the only Anselmo-related thing I still fully stand by
