I’ve noticed PUP likes to use chord progressions that are almost like standard pop punk chord progressions, but they’ll change one or two chords to give them this slightly uglier, less accessible tone, the new track is a good example of that

@Cole One of the band members (user Ifyoumakeit) posted on one of the reviews around the time the album came out. He implied that by the time people started hearing that album he and his bandmates were pretty much all living in different cities and only occasionally were able to play shows together. So my understanding is that it was essentially a side project and that they were pretty much finished by the time people started to actually know about them.

Definitely a shame. I was hopeful that they'd have a similar trajectory to bands like the Gaslight Anthem and the Menzingers.
