@rabidfish do you think in the future Rap as a whole stops being fashionable just like Rock has been for the last decade?

Its not about trendy or not, its just mediocre shit thats got the benefit of novelty. Whether it gets "normie" or not (meaning, whether it reaches the mainstream or not) is irrelevant. The popularity of the music is still based on superficial aspects that will become stale and old, sooner rather than later. Most of the people praising this will move on and, best case scenario, it becomes a nostslgic album for sad fucks to remember the good ol days of smoking chink, poppin flintstones gummies and pretending to have real problems.

@ vladrac i mean rock had its good 30-35 years as the "thing" for the youth. Rap as a global thing has barely had what, 10 years tops?

I dunno, probably? Who knows, really

Back in early to mis 2000's hip hop was still a fringe/small thing here in latinamerica. Nowhere near top 40.

Whatever man. The point is that shit 's cyclical. Who cares how long its been a thing or how long it will last. My point was never about that in the first place i was just responding to vlad.
