I don't know if I'd go that far, but hey you do you

Stopping by to reinforce the idea that this is boring shit.

And Maynard might consider delaying the new Tool album some more to replace Chester in slinking Park with his uninspired, poor vocal performance. He’d get paid without immediately soiling Tool’s reputation any farther.

Hourglass genuinely reminds me of My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark

Whether or not you like the album is purely your opinion. I just don't see how this album is terrible just because it isn't a Tool or "Mer de Noms" style of music.

"Just imagining Maynard + Linkin Park lmao"
Yeah it's called Eat The Elephant

I object to the album title, elephants are not there to be devoured by puny humans

DropTune idt anyone's even implying that here. Sure there's plenty thinking that though

The message on a lot of these songs is pretty on point. I'm not always a fan of politically motivated music but this isn't so much "choose a side" as it is walk your talk and help out your fellow human beings.

Eh, walk your walk and also casting a lot of shade at Christianity as per usual.

Yeah it is the prominent religion in the US and easily of US politicians so that makes sense he'd send shade that way

That's a way too stripped down and antiquated view of the issue. if anything Maynard's mother was a devout christian and he had a falling out with religion at an early age and has ever since held disdain for the religion and his mother's beliefs; essentially has nothing to do with the political climate of the US.

Yes, but Maynard scapegoats that aspect. I think of it as a defense mechanism, but I could be wrong.

JWT look at the lyrics of TalkTalk and you'll see what I mean. Sure I'm sure there's some disdain there, but idt Maynard would make a song like Judith again. The t/t of 10,000 Days shows his attitude has changed alot there, and that was made a million years ago. So I took that into consideration too

Oh I completely agree with the scapegoat aspect. I'm sure there are far more deeply rooted issues with his upbringing and whatnot, religion seems to be the catalyst though that he's centered his anger around.

@supremejelly - I'll give you that song I'll agree

The fact you guys only seem to talk about the lyrical content & it's relevance/meaning is making me believe this must be very bland instrumentally.
