It just seems like they went safe a lot on here to get those radio singles. Other than that, they have some great ideas, but yeah, it's just not the feel of their old albums at all. Their albums always felt like a journey, to me. This feels more like a collection of songs and too many of them are built with pop sensibilities. Fuck that Matt Squire guy.

I'll admit to not having listened to the radio in at least a decade.. but u ppl keep saying they went for the radio hits and since when does the radio play music with people screaming? must be a new trend..

Major radio station around me played Sleepwalking which is almost entirely screamed so it does happen.

It's less that there's screaming or not and more that it's easily digestible. Too easily. There are some good tracks, but it feels simplified in terms of songwriting.

Rowan So would you say that if I’m able to listen to Rapture and find myself enjoying it a decent amount, I’ll enjoy this album?
I know a 3 looks kinda bad to most users but your review makes it seem more than half the album is worth listening to. Hell you didn’t even mention the opener or In Motion

Did you like both Rapture and On My Teeth?
If yes,
You'll enjoy this album.

Tbh I really did not at first but they have grown on me a lot in recent days. I also really like the teasers I heard on the band’s twitter

I really hope that since they got this record out of their system, if they make another one in the future it'll have more of Tim's influences on it. I just think themes Spencer was wanting to touch on could have benefited from a lot more of an aggressive songwriting approach.

Sleepwalking doesn’t really have any screaming in it. Yelled verses with some plain spoken with a yelled strained chorus with maybe 2 slight screams form oli. It’s not the same as on my teeth where Spencer’s verses are complete screams.
The closest radio play UO will Get is in octane which apparently they’ve been on for a while now.
I wish they’d get one on mainstream at this point in their career. Really don’t think they went for a radio that’s the spirit sound like so many keep saying.

Why is nobody talking about Bloodlust? One of the stronger tracks on here imo.
