Only good song is Birdless Cage

Everything else is either mediocre in comparison to previous efforts or forgettable.

Wish I felt different

I don't think this is going to be topped for me this year. Worry If You Want really got to me last night and that's been my 2nd least favorite on this for a while. Hell, it probably still is but that's just how good this is.

The Canyon, Bask, Birdless Cage, and Yume are timeless.

The Canyon, Birdless Cage, Dialogues, and Colored Out have emerged as my faves from this as the months go on

A cool link that the band sent me a while back, wanted to share it:

Also, I missed this, but it's cool to see them get exposure outside of this site:

Admittedly haven't listened to too much Brand New, but this seems quite a bit more rock-oriented and less sparse instrumentally. Didn't think I'd be into this at first but I can't stop coming back. Unfortunately their older stuff really doesn't catch on as much to me.

1. Birdless Cage

2. Dialogues

3. Bask

4. Yume

5. The Canyon

6. Thurisaz

7. Colored Out

8. Amaterasu

Came here to say that I think Birdless Cage might be one of my favorite songs of all time. Catches me in the feels every time. Does anyone have an idea what it is about?

Not certain what it is about but it's definitely one of the best songs they've ever written.

They mentioned in one of the interviews for this album that Birdless Cage is tied to that Japanese folklore subnarrative that runs throughout the album, can't recall the specifics though. I'll try and pull it up later

Yeah, Birdless Cage is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

I'm getting the impression these guys are pretty low key? Which was incredibly surprising to me; the production value on this album is pretty top notch for an alt rock album. I can't seem to find any of their albums anywhere I shop.
