Sputnik actually really likes ABBA, none of their albums have an average lower than 3

Lol. There is only one ABBA song on here and it’s Everything Now. And it’s not a “bad” song at first but it does diminish on subsequent listens as a stand-alone (as does 95% of the album here) song and as a centerpiece it’s pretty bad. But no, as a whole album this is absolutely nothing like ABBA.

I did move this down to a 1 even though I like 2 songs here, but 1) they also diminish in quality over time and 2) they can’t hold the weight of the absolute worst of this album (which is every song here except those 2) and 3) my irony rant that almost makes me heated.

Like not only is this album bad, coming back to it makes it worse. If you hate it at first, your best bet it to just take it at face value and leave it alone. I had this at a 2 to begin with and I just keep moving it down the more I listen to it.

Yeah, there are a few redeeming qualities here, but I'm knocking my rating down, as well. Really not a good release.

'if this album skipped straight from creature to comfort to put your money on me it'd be a solid 3.5 for me.' [2]

their bit on the late show is so aggravatingly derivative and self-indulgent, what a fucking travesty of an album, what a way to tarnish a good band

The strutting Win/shouting Regine interplay on 'Creature Comfort' is one of my favourite music moments this year. Also I kind of dig the baas work during the chorus of 'Chemistry'.

There are little things to love on this album, but taken as a whole it's a bit of a faceplant.

Love some songs like Creature Comfort and the title track. But overall... by far their weakest album.

Had to drop this to a 2 because yeah it's quite bad.

Might be the worst album from an artist I've given a 5 to.

Why are so many of the popular rock and pop acts slowly transforming into 80s pop music like ABBA throughout this whole decade? Is that the latest nostalgic trend when it comes to popular music?
