kinda sucks that Sharp Edges is the last song Chester ever appeared on considering it very well might be the single worst song in Linkin Park's entire discography.
The worst is heavy by far, is just so forced, artificial, simple, lazy, dull, insulting and melodramatic as fuck

good goodbye is way worse than either

good goodbye
Good goodbye feels more like a filler song in a FM album, is not good specially considering how dissapointing were mike's lyrics but is far better than heavy, sorrow for now or nobody can save me

I'd take the most artificial and generic pop song here over Sharp Edges. it sounds like a rejected Relient K song and has the absolute worst lyrics here by far.

Sharp edges is one of the few that I liked of this effort, that song, the self titled and talking to myself are the only decent jamz. That track reminds more of mumford and sons without banjos and is more dynamic and uplifting than the other crap, besides is one of the few songs here that doesn't sound like a mashup between chainsmokers and imagine dragons or 21 pilots.

nobody can save me talking to myself and the t/t are the best on here, maybe sharp edges. good goodbye is the only song on here that i think is bad. everything else is average to decent

Thank god talking to myself right now is the most popular song of this record right now and that video has 35 million views in less than 1 week. I mean don't really care about the views on youtube but that track is a gift of god compared to the other shit in the top 40

>they can't all die after 'In My Time of Dying' like Cornell did.
Isn't Cornell's last ever song The Promise which he did for the movie?

Album is not THAT bad as I remember. That cover still suck though.
Maybe I would buy this, but would be a shame to have that shitty cover on my shelf.

I think it's kind of a beautiful photograph, if a bit cheesy. Definitely does not fit with the aesthetic continuity of their covers though. Maybe that's for the best since the album itself doesn't fit anywhere either.
Also, when you put a CD on a shelf the cover is not actually visible fyi.

The cover looks like aliens on their home planet

Cover is a lazy ass picture, nothing compared with the cover art of HT or THP

The picture leaves a lot up to interpretation. I actually like the cover photo. It relies heavily on negative space and dramatic lighting. It seems a bit noir-ish, but it represents the theme of "One More Light" rather well. I don't find the photograph lazy by any means. I think that most would misinterpret the cover upon first glance, but once you look deeper into the picture, you'll understand the message. As far as the album tracks go, "Heavy" has potential, but the music doesn't match the lyrics at all. I was listening to a remix of "Heavy" the other day (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDwC7bXygxg) and felt like that was a better representation of the song. My initial rating of "Heavy" was a 2/5, but the remix easily jumps to a 3.7/5 in my book.
Otherwise, my favorite song on the album is "One More Light." Not only is it rather obvious as to why, but that song was one of the best I've heard from Linkin Park. They really do perform a lot better acoustically than one would imagine. "Talking to Myself" was also another track I enjoyed. I feel like those three songs were the only enjoyable songs (in my opinion), but I don't find it fair to rate the album more than a 1. An album is a group effort put on by all of the songs collaboratively. Each song tells a story and rating an album based upon your perception of 3 good songs doesn't seem fair. The album is a journey through each subject. Although the lyrics relay that journey well, the music itself takes away from that. It's like reaching your destination by going the wrong way. "One More Light" answers the age old question as to what a rock band would sound like if they wrote pop, but other than novelty, "One More Light" didn't give much. However, the title track "One More Light" will always remain as one of Linkin Parks best songs.

I like the cover because it feels spontaneous. Just look at the kid derping second from the right. That is a genuine moment captured right there.

if the studio version sounded like they played it live on jimmy kimmel (chester screaming and all) it would probably be one of my favorite songs by lp

I don't know why they lowered the scream in production. That was what made the song as emotional as it was. The song sounds genuine, but the scream adds in that extra punch that ties everything together. They song may be fine with the scream faded out, but I agree that it should have been played up more.

I haven't listened to this album past two singles, and after listening to the Jimmy Kimmel live performance of one more light I think I'll just leave it at that. What a.. heavy performance considering all the context
