I know why you think that and it makes the most sense from a musical perspective. However, from a publication standpoint it's almost necessary to do lists in December in order to funnel any fraction of the year-end traffic towards the site.
This would have made my list, just as D'Angelo would have back in 2014.

Its like I love all of baby boy except the very beginning. There's just something about starting the song with that staccato clav line that doesn't feel right. It's such a good song too is the thing.
