Beggars is great, Circles ended up being one of my favourite Thrice tracks of all time, and when that album came out it was gold. I just find myself rarely listening to it now; same goes with M/m.

M/M has more duds than Beggars, but is still excellent. Words in the Water is one of the band's best songs.

M/M is a lot better than this. It may have been a stylistic stepping stone into the more rock-inspired sound on this album but it was overall just a lot more emotional and still had a strong post-hardcore undertone, which rarely shows up on this album. And yea, Words In the Water is one of Thrice's best songs, hard for me to listen to it without tearing up a bit

Lol @Illusion being a boring album. Identity Crisis has some very stale songwriting, but Illusion sure as fuck shakes it up.

I wouldn't call it a boring album per se but in spite of all the energy nothing really sticks out to me. Artist took the elements of Illusion and made the songs a lot more memorable imo
