I don't think this is comparable to the newest TWIABP at all, to be honest. Sonically, the two are quite different, and I'd even argue this has less similarities than differences with The Albatross. As much as I understand the appeal of Dealer, it bores me - outside of the first few songs, I'm not into any of it bar perhaps the climax of Glass Coughs. None of the songs stand out to me, and it all seems like an exercise in emotion that for the most part doesn't resonate with me outside of Night Channels and Three on a Match. To be honest, I do have kind of a strange opinion of this album that I won't even attempt to verbalize, but wholistically I'm just indifferent to it. I might bump it up to a 3, but it's an album that frustrates me the more I listen to it. I do understand, though.

TWIAP does uplifting post-rock, Dealer is the more classic image of post-rock where it's dark and slow and somber. More in line with Moving Mountains. but i dont really like the post-rock elements on this one tbh.
