Autumn Eternal has a better A-side than B-side unfortunately.

Still a very solid album.

now i'm relistening to the s/t and I'm sad that he never revisited those crust punk influences bc those are some of the most fun parts :-(

S/t is best Panopticon yeah. Lunn is a genius though tbh almost everything he has done slays.

wish he'd find that inner anarcho punk flame again and gimme some D BEATZ to crush late capitalism.

punk is the perfect representation of the capitalist condition insofar as it is so obsessed with image and so little with substance that it is perhaps as close as you'll come to the SUBSTANCELESS PRODUCT (i.e. the capitalist's dream)

The Lay of Grimnir was probably my favorite track.

rules ye. That folk section with growly vox is so cheesy but so "kvlt" i love it.

I want him to something more conceptually structured like Collapse next but even though his style is really formulaic here it still bangs. M/

The bm part of the new album sounds kinda s/t esque so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go that route tbh.

stylistically i think it sounds pretty similar to this and Roads, just a little rawer in the production. When speaking about the s/t, I'd also love to see him bring back some crust punk m/

Idk I don’t see much of the folk elements from here and Rods on the new one until the bluegrass parts come in of course.

Idk I love pretty much everything this dude has done so I have faith lol.

I think it's a pretty safe bet that whatever he does will be worth listening to

the bm style and structuring style are both the same tho so basically these last few albums are just like mad libs where he takes out X element and adds in more of Y or Z instead. This one has more folk, Roads was more a mix of post-rock and folk w/ nuances of melodeath, new one had less folk and more bm. No matter what influences he dials up or down on a given record, stylistically he pretty much always writes his metal in the same vein now.

It's just a personal irk, but if he keeps just churning out tracks like that in the future it's gonna get old for me even if the songs themselves are rly good. Gimme Collapse 2 Austin u fkr.
