Well they've done it before, I find 'shit luck' at least as annoying when I'm not in the mood

Lol edits - album is better than Good News so no joke

idk dude i find good news has a real vibe to it, lot of distinctive songs and character even if some of it is borderline waits biting. i find this just a really samey mush, and no real relic of what i loved about them earlier. not that i'm equating good news to their first three, because it's not, but idk it has elements of what got me into them. might be unfairly jaded to it because when i saw them play this like three months ago isaac seemed like an enormous dick.
also sorry i edited my comment back to make yours coherent lmao

slippery Bieber lol
Isaac might always have been a dick though? I'm not saying this is incredible but it's not that dissimilar to anything post Moon & Antarctica

It's about the same quality as this for me, a shade behind. I just didn't particularly like the aesthetic they channelled on it, always found it a helluva drop off after M&A

different love em both tho

M&A is their best though
Coyotes and Ground Walks are indeed best on here, but I guess I enjoy and really like everything else too. This is only slightly behind WWDBTSS for me so I wasn't disappointed in the slightest, but then again I'd probably be considered a fanboy

m&a is their best yeah, band was very consistent for a long time though, just loads of good material
i have to admit even though i consider mm one of my favorite bands i havent even bothered listening to this yet

this even further proves that mm have stopped trying to make a masterpiece. this is mostly just a collection of run-of-the-mill indie rock songs

Is that wrong of an artist though? Look at actors like Robert De Niro, he made classics throughout the 70's, 80's and early 90's. Now, he's essentially been making off the wall rom coms for the past few years. I don't think it's terrible for an artist to make the music they want to, even if it means it has less merit than their previous work. I enjoy this record for what it is, and I think perspective is everything when listening to an album.

aaaaandd now i am again dissuaded
nothing wrong with it at all jwt so long as the music is still made with artistic intentions (i.e. not purely commercial intentions), doesnt mean it will be as pleasurable a listen
