Even better people discussing in the sound off section.

They should make it so people can comment on a normal comment section even if it doesn't have a review.

Doesn't reaches the seminal hights of the last two records, but has its own strong moments. Ariel is later-year Anathema at its best and most emotional.

Likewise lol
Once you’re done with this one you should try the Daniel Cavanagh solo album I reviewed - a bit more subtle but same sort of song writing

I put a comment on that a few days back. Fucking uncanny.
I’m going to digest this, WHBWH, Judgement and Weather Systems over the next few weeks and months then move onto that red one with the boat.

Red one with boat is alright - a couple of songs they try and throw in some ‘Kid A’ curveballs, robot voice effects etc
I think there are a few goofs on it but they’re still enjoyable, very transitional though
The last song (before the hidden instrumental) is Coldplay on suicide watch
Overall I’d describe it as ‘clunky but a goodie’

I think getting into all these latter albums at the same time has given you the chance to be unbiased about how they actually rank irrespective of which came first

When this dropped I remember thinking ‘same exact album three times in a row’ but honestly it’s prob about as good as the two before it.

Probably. I love all of ‘em equally at the min but this one really has a nice all encompassing sweep to it.
It’s the best front to back listen. I’ve got me tickets to see them live up in Liverpool, I’ve already taken it as gospel that my car will be on bricks come the end of the gig.

They always deliver the goods.
Last time I saw them at Shep Bush Empire they did three ‘through the eras’ mini-sets. Ended with the early doom line up with the original singer - he was like a lottery winner and was putting the world to rights from his soapbox. Was v funny.
Time before in Camden they were simply immense supporting Weather Systems.
Hopefully no one introduces you to their mate Stanley who’s taken a shine to the contents of your wallet. I’ve never been to Liverpool, can’t be wall to wall scally, big myth I’m thinking

It’s where I had my stag. I’ve been a couple of times and love it, surprisingly small but quality place, quality people.

Ello Plebster.
Yeah I went with WS as the best but as I’m slowly working me way through it all, and repeatedly listening to this, A Fine Day to Exit and other bits and bobs this one is a charmer.
Band is boss la.
