This is definitely album of 2014 (not a lot else came out) and definitely top 10 of the decade

This is how bad 2014 was:
https://www.albumoftheyear.org/user/doofy/ratings/highest/?y=2014
If you discount the Gav Clark comp the scores run 'Benji' with a 97% in 1st place then it crashes right down to RtJ2 at 86%, then War on Drugs in 3rd on 84%

Def one of my faves of the decade. One of the few 5s I’ve given from this decade iirc

Hm, 2014 was a bit of a weak year yeah (especially coming off of 2013 which is the best year of the decade), some great albums on the high end but not too many mid-great ones.

‘12 and ‘14 are blatantly the worst this decade

Agreed, two weakest years by a fair margin
‘Dogs’ I can see isn’t for everyone but I think it works, ‘Richard Ramirez’ is possibly my least fave

Mmmm both tracks rule. Least fav for me is probably “I love my dad”

"Dick" is probably my least fave too, either that or "Newtown"
Otherwise this is basically wall-to-wall quality

'Newtown' gets me every time now because I got married and I did genuinely remember to think of Newtown on that day...so it worked. God bless Mark Kozelek, what a good egg.
Misunderstood egg.

Seriously though this could gatecrash my top 10.
Of the decade, or of all time?

Decade
Basically what I mean by that is it feels like it could be a 5 and would pretty much be top 10 OTD by default.

"Jim Wise" is such a great little tune, as sad as anything else here but it somehow lightens the tone a bit. Reminds me a lot of last year's Advance Base album.
