its not as bad as most people made it out to be honestly. people on this site have gone crazy
over much worse this year. its just another case of people not really thinking for themselves
(im not suggesting that you dont by the way, its just a generalization). Like i can see how
some people would hate this, but i also think a large portion of the people that 'hate' this hate
it because they think they are supposed to. this is better than 90% of the shitty modern alt
prog bullshit that half the users on this site listen to so...

if it wasnt a cynic album people would be a lot easier on it as well

there are some sweet jazzy bass and guitar licks in that one passage in the middle of the title track too

id give it as much as a 3.5. probably will. we all knew this album wasnt going to be anything like Focus. If you didnt figure that out from Traced In Air then you are dumb. And this is better than Carbon-Based Anatomy which was literally 90% filler and interludes and like one real song

Maybe this isn't a 4 like I rated it (damn near close), but it's still really good and enjoyable and I truly believe people are shitting on this because it's not the Cynic they wanted. Probably THE album I think is most unjustly rated this year.
