I remember this one time I was talking to this person who told me that they were a huge fan of Arctic Monkeys. I said, I love "I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor", and then she looked at me with this confused face.

Saw these guys at Osheaga in 2014 and everyone was singing along when they played stuff from AM. As soon as they played Dancefloor, a large portion of the crowd stopped singing lol

I will never understand how this album got them so much attention and acclaim. This feels like a huge step backwards both musically and lyrically for them.

This album was a huge leap after SIAS which to be honest is their only "average" album even though it has some real gems on it.

Eh, I liked SIAS a lot more. I thought it did the whole vintage thing a lot better, though AM had the aesthetic down better. There are some good tracks on this (namely No 1. Party Anthem) but a lot of it focuses on style over substance.

SIAS is pretty great for the most part. At least that album still had Alex Turner's witty and sometimes humorous lyrics. There is not of that on here. This is just machismo posturing throughout the whole thing. Once the album gets to "I Wanna Be Yours" (which is in my personal opinion the worst track they have ever done) it really makes me think how can this be the same band that wrote "The Jeweller's Hands" and "A Certain Romance".
