basically anyone who's been saying that it isn't 'challenging' enough is doing this imo. and i mean, i haven't even begun to get into that yet. i was more so bothered by people insinuating that her music is enjoyable because it's challenging/inaccessible, which seems like a sort of elitist mindset when approaching music. her new album is her easiest to dive into, but it's still presenting creative new ideas and innovating on old ones. there's a good deal of variety, and some of the best hooks she's ever written, imo.

whole lotta seemingly equivalent terms you got there

"challenging" can be a vague term when used to describe music, and it's possible some people are taking it too literally. it could mean other things besides "difficult to enjoy." the fact that some of her previous music might have been enticing enough to encourage a listener to peel back the layers and discover various meanings and/or emotions in her music could be considered a "challenge" in some ways, whereas her new album might feel transparent, offering nothing below the surface level worth seeking. it could be just semantics we're arguing here.
the only person I've seen make that complaint was Potsy, and he enjoys enough accessible stuff that I'm sure he doesn't have that particular mindset, so I think assuming that's his main gripe is kinda unfair.
so, when you say, "people insinuating that her music is enjoyable because it's challenging/inaccessible," I think you're off the mark. the "challenging" thing might be a small part of why they enjoy it, but clearly it's not inherently a determining factor.

When she sings that first word on this record... it's like, yeah I need to sit down a little. Still so good.

There's nothing to it. It's just kind of airy and vacant, I much prefer the more musically engaging moments like maxim 2 and hello stranger
