By far TMV's best work.

I'm going to have to bump up the rating for the token songs that I legitimately really enjoy. But in all fairness...

The vocalist sounds like puberty passed him by without a glance...
|
| |
but in all fairness you're probably underrating this because of the hype surrounding it
|

but in all fairness, I legitimized why I dislike this a few pages back.

The only really good album by them, in my opinion.

I like Frances better and think that's their best work.
"The vocalist sounds like puberty passed him by without a glance..."
I don't understand why people see this is a valid argument against male vocalists who sing in high registers.

His voice can get incredibly annoying though.

i've never had a problem with his voice since he uses his voice in different ways for each song

I prefer the instrumental sections on this better than the vocals though

Tommy Rogers doesn't have a pre-pubescent voice at all though.

this album is fucking lovely. So much intricate talent & structure on this one (structure, maybe Rick Rubin’s doing because it’s not as prominent on their other albums to me). I was big on ATDI for a while & found out about TMV a couple years after they solidified, while reading a Rolling Stone mag. Every band member is just nasty; both drummers that have play for THV are geniuses. This is another band that amazes me with syncopated timing.
