Fuck I think this album is exactly what black metal needs. A little bit of diversity. If people are gonna hate on it, they can continue to listen to the black metal they were listening prior to spinning this album. It's pretty fucking ridiculous that these guys are getting a bad rep from certain black metal elitists for broadening the scope of the genre and doing a pretty stand-up job of it. It's not like they shit the bed technique-wise.

these guys aren't doing anything new within the genre of black metal, as post/black and blackgaze existed far before these guys. and there are much more unique styles of black metal, so this isn't broadening jack. it's mostly fans of this band comparing it to other black metal (that they most likely haven't even listened to). we get it, yall don't listen to much bm, but don't make it out like the people who do don't like this because it's some sort of unique album that deviates so much from "traditional" bm.
