I dunno man, James Franssen's name is pretty clearly attached to most instances of that art online, and from what I just heard of him, nobody asked permission to use it for an album ;>

Hey there, I'm the artist of the horse. I drew it in charcoal. I'm glad to see it is well liked! I was never contacted regarding its use, but I suppose that it's not that easy to track down artists.. Though sometimes a bit more research helps.
Anyway, it would be a good idea in the future to contact artists or photographers if you are going to use their images on a product you are trying to make money on. You could face serious legal issues. In my case, I'm not too upset with this one. There are other drawings I've done, though, where I'd be angry if used without even a reference.

Zaruyache, that is a drawing of a photo that I had asked the photographer permission (and got) to
draw. I believe the original photo might already be used in a book cover or something, so it
probably wouldn't be a good idea to use it because of vague copyright issues.
Like I said, it's always best to ask the artist for permission first, or there is a chance that the
artist, or someone down the line of the creation of the artwork will litigate. I know it seems easy
to just take images and put them on things that associate with your art, but case in point (me
finding out from someone else that my artwork was used without permission) you might find the artist
or photographer or even other musicians coming after you with a suit.
Just keep that in mind.
I'm not saying I'm going to go after everyone that uses my art, because I'm an artist and I believe
in sharing. It's when people make profits off of others' works that bug me and where I would
probably try to do something about it. CaptainDooRight obviously isn't trying to that here, but
there are artists with big pockets who will do what they can to protect their living.
