the songs w/ vox here are def the ones i care for less. think its ultimately what we come to this style of music for, and for me its to not have to verbalise thoughts- to be able to drift on beats and grooves instead of focusing on distinct words. thats why i like electronic music that lacks vocals, because its a void into which its so easy to lose yourself

Omaha I see where you're coming from and I agree with you a lot on that as well. electronic music without locals allows you to float away in the mesh of the sonics and sort of make up your own meaning/feelings without focusing on what's being said in the lyrics. mostly I don't really listen that much to the lyrical content in electronic music, but rather the vocal melodies/harmonies themselves as an extra "instrument" to the overall song.

100% agree.

to each their own, some people like big drops, and top 40 mixes.

I like electronic music for hypnotic beats grooves and loops.

sleaper what do you think of tracks like emkay and know you where the vox are sorta cut up and used as an instrument

i love emkay, yeh. cut up (non-intelligent lyrics) are fine with me. I just really dont like clean vox at the foreground of electronic music where your attention is directed towards the singing rather than the production.

That's the best. Emkay and Know You are the best tracks for pretty much that reason

or some old tracks by Zero 7, or Nel Blu by Floex. there are tons of electronic music where vocals just add another dimension to a track of the album as a whole. an album that is dominated by instrumental tracks can get a more human feel by including a few tracks with vocals imo.

I don't mind vocals on a chillout album. Zero 7 is a perfect example.
