I think he mentions rape too much, but other than that I'm cool with the lyrics. Brainbombs' lyrics are way worse lol

A part I've always wondered about is
~Just like a rain drop
I was born baby to fall
And scale these prison walls~
I don't believe raindrops are known to scale walls?

"Lyrics are completely tertiary"
yeah they don't really make a difference to me either. metal lyrics aren't often anything to write home about but as long as they're not like offensively bad i don't really mind them

Daxx’s lyrics remind me of being an angsty high schooler that said dumb shit like “rape and abuse of power is all humanity ever does” so they kind of sit well in a sort of nostalgic way for me

No high schooler ever wrote something like
"Mother's cool reptilian womb
Ain't so cold tonight"

Some of the lyrics are awesome, but the ones on Cassie are pretty disgusting

I’ve never got this attitude of not caring about lyrics. I grew up with CD’s booklets in my hands memorizing lyrics in a language I couldn’t yet understand. Reading along became an integral part of the listening experience for me. Great lyrics are quite rare, of course, but they can add more layers of meaning, atmosphere and feeling and in the best cases have really deepened my appreciation for records that present themselves as so thoughtfully crafted in every aspect.
Acid Bath’s lyrics are at their best on “Paegan...”. They’re shocking, disgusting, poetic and beautiful all at the same time.

Bad lyrics are fine as long as their delivery doesn't sound bad if that makes sense

okay, dudes...let's keep our heads straight. Lyrics should def matter, specially if they are perceivable. If you don't get shit about what the dude is screaming, not caring is always an option tho.
Also if you want to listen to as much music as you can, you listen to music while doing other stuff. Example: Most of my music I listen during work, If was to check the lyrics I wouldn't work. I only check lyrics ultimately nowadays, I assume, and also came from that booklet era. To keep up with lyrics with everything I love would be impossible. That said I love when dudes make some inputs on lyrics on here.
Some albums are better left alone without checking lyrics XD

Lyrics sometimes matter, except for when they don’t. Sounds about right.
There really aren’t many artists out there who enhance the experience with their lyricism (particularly in metal), but it can be done.
