The first 4 songs here clearly put this on route for a 5 rating. But the 2nd half of the record is notably worse in quality (although still good).

yah the second half reeeeeeeally had to grow on me. the first time I heard it, I thought it took such a nosedive after "Bleed The Freak", like the first four songs are fucking amazing and then after it just becomes boring filler. I don't feel the same anymore but there definitely aren't any songs on the same level as the first 4 after track 4 (maybe "Sunshine")

The first 4 just set the bar/expectations for the album pretty high. The rest of the album is filled with great harmonies and very catchy riffs by Cantrell.
