It's quite good.
I just wanna talk about two tracks;
'Demon's Name...' is one of their worst songs - literally 4 minutes of chugging triplets with some random (well probably
not random, this IS Meshuggah) - guitar stabs overlaid on top of it. I honestly don't know what they saw in this track to
record it in the first place!!
'Marrow', however, is a stone cold classic. Encapsulates all the rhythmic innovation that makes Meshuggah one of the most
distinctive bands in the history of the genre, and the outro at 4:48 is as danceable and catchy as metal can ever get. I really
think it will be a staple of their live set and one of the handful of tracks people will remember them for.
Overall, to me this album has a highlight that ranks alongside 'Bleed' and the rest of the tracks are more solid than those
in Obzen. I rank Koloss higher than Obzen, Catch 33 and Chaosphere, and below Destroy Erase Improve and Nothing.

demiurge & behind the sun have the most epic atmospheres imo.

I like the new one. The production is "warmer" and more "human" instead of the usual cold and compressed digital production of their previous stuff. In short, it sounds less like a computer and more like a band. Bravo, Meshuggah

The solo in Don't Look Down fucking bugs the shit out of me, though.

How can you hate "The Demon's Name is Surveillance ," the song is just straight to the point and balls out? I have to admit, I am really liking this record alot because it sounds like a band playing with each other more so than the last few albums...as people been saying.

I heard I Am Colossus and Do Not Look Down. I got into these songs, I can't wait to hear the whole thing. I hope it's a lot like their ObZen album.

the demon's name is fucking brutal, the only thing that's random in that song is the erection i get when that riff kicks in

I bet most people are going to have a lot of different favorite tracks on this one. I personally wouldn't say that Demon's Name is my favorite but I do think it is pretty awesome. I especially think it is an interesting song for Meshuggah because it implies a 6/8 meter on the "verses". You can really hear that 6 beat swing on the high hat part. I can't think of another song of theirs that is in a triple meter like this. Even this late in their career, the masters of innovation continue to come up with new ideas.

Demon's Name is the third best on the album

@phil: this song's about to rock my neighborhood. i also noticed about the meter you were talking about; although i know jack-shit about theory, i did notice the hats. keep the headbanging on the hats and just sway to the bass drum
dis shit be epic

Meshuggah's vox feel reminiscent of nu-metal always to me kind of has a rapping thing going at some points.
