Cause this record is nearly 4 decades old and people like conversing about music that's more relevant.

I'd prefer the Gabriel chocolate surprise > Kendrick's chocolate surprise

@JW it IS 4 decades old and is still relevant. Masterpieces don't lose relevance.

dude they were one of the most popular pop bands of the 80's and their 70's albums are regarded as cornerstones of prog but yet "Don't remember the last time I heard anyone talk about Genesis outside of this site". They even did a comeback tour in 07 that basically sold out worldwide so don't tell me they aint relevant. You should show more love to an album you've 5'd btw.

Listening to this one now, middle of Firth of fifth where it breaks into that joyous shit is awesome.

That solo may just be the best melodic rock guitar solo of the year.

The only major melodic prog solo from 1973 that can compete with it is "Time" to be honest.

Id say the solo on firth takes the one on time out to lunch and never calls it again ;).in all seriousness tho Its actually one of the most beautiful moments in music tbh.

There are other Floyd solos that run Firth of Fifth closer than Time does. Some of Andy Latimer's solos also come close.

It certainly is a more ambitious composition than "Time." Hackett's guitar work on the whole album is honestly so ahead of its time.
