This album does rule but I remember it not ending as strong as it had been going up to the final few songs. I'll just need to play it again soon.

It’s definitely a bit front-loaded (or somewhat middle-loaded since the strongest section for me is tracks 4-7) but still consistently great. The last two tracks especially I view as a comedown from the sequential climax that is Exiles. I think they really work in that function, but I could see how one might find them underwhelming.

I gave Reunion Tour a 5, I know it's not the full album masterpiece like Reconstruction Site was, but that album really did it to me. I want to give more 5 albums here. But that was the first 5 I gave so far.

"Tell me it's okay. Tell me anything, or show me there's a pull, unassailable

That will lead you there from the dark alone

to benevolence that you've never known

or you knew when you were four and can't remember."

I've learned how to play most of these songs at some point or another and that's the one line I can't sing without getting too in my head and my voice choking up

Too many gems here to pick really but most of the title track really gets me. Essential autumn album, I should bust this out soon.

Hold on to the corners of today

And we'll fold it up to save until it's needed

Stand still, let me scrub that brackish line

that you got when something rose and then receded.

I’m convinced this is about grief, and it gets me every time.

he's really good but sometimes he gets stuck in this overly verbose/laboriously poetic way of writing that comes off as trying a little too hard. it's ok to be wordy but the best lyricists can convey hard hitting sentiments an effortless, subtle type of way that this guy lacks imo

His balance of poeticism and emotion is basically unmatched so yeah I also have to disagree Colton

I don't think poeticism and emotion are opposed to each other, you don't need to sacrifice one to implement the other, I just think he tends to utilize both in similar ways whereas some other lyricists are more diverse in that regard, definitely a great lyricist though
