Davey, since you've sat through and sounded off on every Hinder album, you owe it to yourself to listen to a good southern rock band.

No, Black Stone Cherry, silly. And since you like to start at the beginning of discographies it will be perfect, since their first is the best.

Haha. I knew what/who you were getting at. Will do some time this year. Strangely, I've never really thought of Hinder as Southern Rock, although they clearly carry such influences.

They're not really. I'll borrow a line from my review of BCS' s/t, they're just a "band that sprinkles on a few bent notes as an afterthought to a typical post-grunge sound".

That is a nice line, I'm proud of myself for that.

I've been meaning to listen to this album again sometime, but I keep putting it off.

The Autumn effect was quite good, but I take it from peoples ratings this isn't as good?

No, it's not "as" good.

Sometimes you need an entry point for a band.

I have been listening to this album a lot lately to see if there was a vibe in the album that I have missing and I have finally found it. Feeding the Wolves is a title which resonates through most of the album and although it is not enough to make me think that this was an excellent record I will raise my rating to 3.5 but am sure it is never going to be higher than that.

I've been playing this a lot at work and while I don't enjoy some of the slower moments I really. consider this my favorite album by them.

Shoot it Out, ironically, is still my favorite.

That's just the nu-metal in you getting you all excited for 'Gold Cobra'.

Once I read a bit about the bands issue with their record label I really liked "Shoot It Out" a lot more than I did at first listen.

my god "gold cobra" sounds like exactly what i needed to come out before the halfway point of the year, it sounds just like old school P.O.D., I'm so excited.

"shoot it out" is great, but for some reason i liked "waking up the ghost" the best even though it's kinda laaaammmmee
