My criticism was more everything associated with the chorus section including the instrumental and vocal melodies. Just sounds really anticlimactic to me, always has. Rest of the song is really good though

I don't think the chorus is trying to be the standout that's why

It's more about being this soul crushing rocker... like Limo Wreck. Which is why they're my 2 favorite Soundgarden songs

Rhinosaur is f'ing tits

my old band used to cover that song and it would get a big cheer on the tempo change parts

The psych effect on Cornell's voice in T&T is quite cool, just not my sort of tune I guess, totally subjective and all that

Yeah, it's really the songwriting I'm not too excited about on those tunes, rather than the aesthetic. I would say the feel of the album is less unified compared to Superunknown though, this is the 'No Code' compared to Superunknown's 'Ten' I guess. Album has a muddied identity, and it was zero surprise they split soon after this. Still far from a bad release.

Can't stand it. It's repetitive to the point of irritation, it feels lazily written, it has a far below average vocal performance from Chris, and somehow manages to feel completely tired-out and uninspired despite racing along at a manic pace for most of its duration. It's my least favorite Soundgarden song I've heard by a wide margin.

this is a weird album. there's like 5-6 really really great tracks and the rest is forgettable filler. applebite is one i don't think gets enough love, great atmosphere in that song

also i agree head down is one of the best things soundgarden has ever done

Contrary to the popular agreement, I hate tighter and tighter maybe for the blusy tone of the song
