The MoP cover was what got me into this band. The Forwhom the bell tolls cover is horrible though.

Trivium, Original?

You make me laugh kid, you obviously haven't listened to the thrash metal genre at all.

As for Malmsteen, whether or not his material over the past two decades has been simular, dosen't mean he dosen't live up to the virtuoso reputation that he keeps, oh so well.

In my opinion he has written amazing melodies and fantastic solos unlike trivium who's only work with any hook is Heafys shocking wailing in the chorus of rain. The only song that has any value of listenablity. I think you need to listen to Malmsteen and study him a bit more. It's certinatly original, amazing, melodic, beautiful music.

I mean, compare Black Star to Heaven Tonight. Among other songs it is definatly unique from other Malmsteen material. A Neo-classical masterpiece with a poppy-80s hair metal-esque song. As for his solos, I find them distinguishable and just fantasic.

Anyway, Malmsteen is in a much different league than Trivium.

Don't agree with the review whatsoever...but there seem to be a million people on either side. Music is individual anyway.

I think this album excels in a number of areas and its personally had a good run in my stereo before it first came out. *I* like it and thats that.

Eww Malmsteen talk. That guy serious needs to learn how to write a decent song, I mean I know tons of guys who can shred, but they actually make decent music and not guitar wankery.

I enjoyed this album, but they have a long way to go to prove themselves to the metal masses. Ive seen them live and they were excellent. But their next album should be a step up hopefully. Good 'non biased' review!

Yeah I saw them live in the UK and they were really passionate about their performance - they covered Master of Puppets and got a guy from the crowd to do vocals. Their covers of Pantera, Metallica, Megadeth and some rather surprising inclusions of Green Day and Eminem. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience and my mate met Corey

I actually don't think I've enjoyed an America Metal album this much since the days of 'Alive or Just Breathing'. You guys can say what you want; live it or hate it. It makes no difference to me. This rocks.

If Corey is so great, then what do they need the egotist for?

They enjoy having that pretentious, masturbatory, self-glorifying, attention-hogging prick around?
