Goddamn this albums is amazing when you're in the mood for it. No way in hell it's their worst release; as a whole, it's probably their best overall. Might have to bump my rating back up to a four. One of my favourite beach albums.

I was actually just listening to this album on the beach. It doesn't seem like it would work as a beach album but it does.

I know dude. Beaching it up for a week next Tuesday. Parkway is perfect beachside metal.
It's the small seaside country town my grandmother grew up in too...This calls for some Defeater

It's monotonous all the way around. Sure there are some cool breakdowns but overall this was a dissapointment. Too many of the tracks sound exactly the same.

I just find that each track follows pretty much the exact same formula.

There's enough variation to keep it interesting IMO

Aside from the intro, Deadweight = Sleepwalker + Unrest.

The breakdown in "Pressures" is awesome though.

These songs only have a little less variance than was on Horizons, tbh. And Horizons and Killing With A Smile had a greater discrepancy between material quality. There were the few great songs, and a bunch of filler songs. As an album, Deep Blue is very consistent without getting boring IMO. And the production is great; it perfectly reflects the band's real LIVE sound.
