I disagree a lot MJ. In contrast to most hipsters, I find through interviews that they're pretty sincere as far as their music goes(they don't make culturally relevant statements or intellectualize what they do). Also "hipster" bands tend to be charismatic or build some type of personality, but in most AC interviews they're really shy and awkward. So if their normalness is supposed to be ironic, then they're really subtle as far as that goes.

i've decided my favourite thing about animal collective is how in a discusson of MPP an actual debate about the album will take place, whereas most discussions about feels are essentially friendly recitals of 'bees'
