Effloresce just seems less boring to me anyway. This is good but i feel it drags too much in some places. Still a good album.

Effloresce is a weirder album that rules through being diverse and crazy and unpredictable. I freakin love it, but this makes so much sense as a whole that I couldn't not 5 it

Should I check this out?

You mean Effloresce? Yes, for sure; it's pretty different to this

Just start with Effloresce and go through the discography if you like what you hear. Every album is just as good as the last.

idk Self Preserved was pretty subpar for them

I'm kinda with KILL on this one. The song structures lack anything interesting and the vocals are sub-par. I wanna like it thoug!!! ):

If this isn't interesting, what is? Verse-chorus-verse-chorus three minute songs?
|
| |
Vocals are fine, some songs are slowburners (T-Shirt, Christies, Savant), but that's fine by me; they're very immersive

I never did check out the Music For Nurses EP. Any good? Which album does it sound most like?

It's kind of like a mix of Self Preserved and Frames. I'd say it's one of their most consistent releases.

The Music For Nurses EP fucking rules, all four of the songs on in are top-notch Oceansize.

You should download it just for Paper Champion. One of their absolute best songs.

Good to hear it's consistent, but any megahit songs that reach the caliber of some of their other gems?
Ah sorry you commented before I did, kk Paper Champion it is lol

Eh I mean, the songs are mostly shorter and in the 4:30-7 minute range; none of them are as good as a song like Trail of Fire, Ornament/The Last Wrongs, or Women Who Love Men Who Love Drugs, but all four of them are very solid and in the 10-20 range of my favorite Oceansize songs. Paper Champion is probably the strongest of the four.
