these guys dropped out of college to play music together. The line-up hasn't changed in 20 years, these guys are never going to break up. I know this in my heart, that's why I don't take kindly to having my emotions toyed with like this. Not cool.

Pretty sure they're not going to break-up. People mentioned during their last tour with Rise Against, Davey was wearing a jacket that said "Missing Man" on it, and all their shirts on that tour said this as well. They also removed all photos of Davey from their IG. Must be the theme of the new album or whatever it is they plan on doing.

It probably just has to do with the art/theme of the next album.

Album is perfect, just the production on Darling fucking sucks, the lyrics in Torch Song are pretty dumb, and I'm Trying Hard is filler. Everything else rules, and yeah Veronica Sawyer Smokes is insidiously catchy.

I don't mind the production on Darling at all. one of my favorites. and lmao I can't argue with the Torch Song comment but I love em

Torch song is cool, it has some of the best guitar work on the album, just the lyrics/hook are stupid. And the production on Darling is utter dog shit, can't even distinguish the fucking instruments, much less the melodies. Clearly a precursor to Burials production.

Record is a ton of fun- End Transmission, Veronica Sawyer Smokes, and Sacrilege are some of my favorite AFI tracks. Torch Song is also pretty rad.

It Was Mine goes so fucking hard, perfect closer, phenomenal lyrics. Such an overlooked song.

The B-Sides on this album are stellar. I have said it many times before, but if you threw some of the B-Sides into the real release and cut some of the official tracks, this album could be a 5 and easily a 4.5.

^ Agree with this. I want to know why they didn't decide to go with the sound from those B-sides for the entire album. I know they changed producers from David Bottrill to Jackknife Lee. I don't know much of Bottrill's work, but I know he produced Tool's "Aenima" and "Lateralus". Jackknife Lee is known for more pop acts like U2, Weezer, Taylor Swift. I'm convinced if they stuck with Bottrill, Crash Love would have been a much moodier album and possibly received much better overall.

I feel like AFI are probably writing a ton of killer tracks it is just that they pick the wrong ones for their albums lol. Crash Love b-sides provide evidence of this.

Yeah the b-sides for this are stellar as always. I have a playlist on my phone that's just AFI b-sides. It's like a whole extra AFI album at this point.

If its only 1 extra album you are missing tons of b-sides bud.
