God I still love that dismal intro to Calf.

Still one of the most harrowing riffs i've heard in my goddamn life.

I don't care where I go when I die

In fact, I care so little, let me name an album after it. That'll show them how little I care!

HEY YOU CHECK THIS ALBUM

This thing is still so absolutely filthy. I come back to it quite often! Gristle especially is one of the nastiest tracks. PRAY IT'S MALIGNANNNNTTTT

Haven't listened to this band in about 10 years, remember absolutely loving their material but couldn't go back after the Parkin stuff, I'm no good at separating art from artist. Would love to see Cult Leader perhaps revisit the material one day if they ever felt like doing so.

idk. I think I could reconcile it if Cult Leader sometimes play Gaza songs live as then it'll just be like "they're just a continuation of Gaza with a new name e.g. Coheed & Cambria/Shabutie" but if CL have also abandoned the Gaza history it feels tainted.

Yeah I’m not out here defending it because of how much I love this record, but that whole thing seemed a little weird to me.

It's been pretty open and shut that the case against him was bullshit. He was, however, apparently not very fun to work with even leading up to that mania. So it makes sense why they wanted to separate after all was said and done.

Sucks, dude was/is one of the sickest vocalists in this style of music.

Cult Leader isn’t terrible but man it just can’t touch Gaza. I’ve always wondered if they just ran out of steam or was Jon actually a big part of the songwriting process?

Still a perfect picture of pure destruction in its best moments. Not even sure Converge get as dark and filthy as this.
