I love the lyrics but the production destroys the album for me

I guess it's a preference thing honestly, this is one of like two areas where we differ

yeah, I kinda have the same problem with Post-Nothing

Brick, idk if I find it to be too lo-fi or what, but something about the instrumentation vs. the vocals that doesn't sit well with me. Haven't listened in a while though tbh.

Man those are like my two favorite albums of 09. It's all good though, I can see where you're coming from. One of my friends legitimately can't get past the opening five seconds of Sylvia and I'm like come on man...

the opening seconds on Sylvia are the best! those chords are so awesome (anyone know how that sound is made by the way?)

why can't he get past it? too sad/too 'boring' or something?

I will give you his word by word review of this album:

"bear is ok. two is ok. i dont see the point of kettering. sylvia is terrible, its just noise."

I did get one of my friends into them purely through their live show though, it's amazingly how well they adjust their sound

ahh that's cool!

i've got a few of my friends into them now, but so many times i've heard "i love it, it's so good to sleep to!", but i seriously cannot see how anyone can sleep to albums like this?! it keeps me up all night!

just me?

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I like to make this the last thing I listen to on the night just because it's so draining to listen to, but I don't think I could fall asleep to it at all.

I still have to see Toy Story 3, I heard it's the most emotional movie ever

Yeah man, I'm a 90's kid so I remember loving TS1 when I was real little then seeing TS2 and being like, "ok that was alright" but TS3 is like hooolllyyy shit I got serious chills 5 or 6 times during the movie and felt like I was getting my heart ripped out at one point all while nostalgia'ing hard. You need to go see it.

Just saw it tonight. Needless to say it was more emotional than this. and fuck the purple bear, yo.

Yeah purp bear was a fucking shitter. He made me so mad.

Also, Ken is intensely metrosexual... Coulda guessed that.

I'd say that emotionally they are both about as intense as it gets. Your wife dying of cancer and your friends going through intense struggles can't really be compared.
