I'm feelin' rough, I'm feelin' raw
I'm in the prime of my life
Let's make some music, make some money
Find some models for wives
God the nostalgia these songs bring for me is insane

this is a "had to be there" album. Doing acid and shrooms with friends and going to the park and riding our bikes and playing with stray dogs and the circus was in town the whole summer.

Time to Pretend is an all-time classic and Kids is heaps of fun, but does it ever drop off in the back half...

Yeah I feel like I have this 5'd just for the singles lol. Album feels like a classic just because it contains 3 or 4 of the most enjoyable songs I've ever heard.
Might have to re-evaluate that, but if not, I'm theoretically okay with the honorable 5.

I had Time to Pretend as my 92nd favorite song of all time when I made my top 100 songs list last year, but honestly that's a huge underrate. Probably should have been top 50 somewhere.

I'm okay with your honourable 5 (not that you should care what I think) for the same reasons. It really was something when it came out, even if the quality wasn't consistent. The good stuff was just SO good.
I remember your Top 100. I was really happy to see Time To Pretend - probs in my Top 5 of all time; can't really explain why though, it's just the whole package - the feeling it invokes, the video, the synth hook, the tone, the digging up of worms, and the line, "I'll move to Paris shoot some heroin and fuck with stars"... It made a far away utopia seem attainable (If that makes any sense at all).
You have inspired me to at least 4 it.

I agree with everything you said. It's just such a vibe. Makes me feel like I should quit my office job and just do what makes me happy. Very liberating.

I am insulted, Jonathan… When we get Con to give Congratulations another shot, I’ll give this another shot
