It seems like my main gripe with the album is that it lacks some coherence in the composition, with some random sounding almost improvised parts. I suppose that's why some enjoy it. It also drags badly in places and has some very uninteresting riffs. I enjoy individual parts but not the songwriting as a whole.

Alright Spado, feel free to just go back to "overrated." I see why you didn't bother.

how can you guys listen to Burial at Ornans and claim this is an excellent album. It's 14 minutes, drags on for no reason, has no good riffs. It is mindnumbingly boring.

You gave Perverse Recollections of a Necromangler a 3, do you really have a right to tell people what they should and shouldn't enjoy?

Spado do you like doom in general? It's not always about the riffs y'know.

The grinding death metal segments on this are tight as hell though, despite their brevity

Huge difference between saying "how can you claim this is excellent?" and "you shouldn't enjoy this." Not even close to the same thing.

Not a huge fan of the sludge metal genre, which I suppose this is. but this album is pretty neat. Won't be interesting unless you know and can appreciate what you're getting in to. Heavier than anything you can imagine. Many consider it a Classic.
