These guys aren't that great live, seriously. Iron Maiden, Nine Inch Nails, AFI, and Children of Bodom (my favorite shows) put on performances that A7X couldn't match. They're an awesome studio band though

I don't like them live. Shadows is terrible and pretty much ruins it for me. =/

But I'm listening to City of Evil right now...I've forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Sidewinder and The Wicked End ftw.

"AX7 is pure processed crap packaged in a pretty little coating of "posers" for a bunch of 14 yr old girls and metal noobies."

Not cool man, a lot of a7x fans are not metal noobies. If you don't like them, thats your opinion but don't make fun of the fans.

*NOTE* I changed by journal entry up about avenged sevenfold for anyone who read it before. I'm sorry for offending anyone with the original. it wasnt planned that way. thank you

What it comes down to is this album is the most hated and loved album at the same time. People just seem to hate them for no reason sometimes and when i confront them they dont even have a reason besides they dont like the vocals. Some things about them i can agree with like "cheesy riffs" but m shad is not bad on the vocals. not studio at least.
Oh, and ppl who make fun of fans are pretty straight...yeah...

Actually, Children of Bodom put on very commanding, energetic live shows, and I'd actually have to say their live tone is better than their studio tone.

On the opposite side of the coin, I saw Avenged Sevenfold at Ozzfest this year and they had the most boring performance of all.

Also, you're about a month late on bringing this up.This Message Edited On 03.05.07

I saw them at Ozzfest in Philly last year and they didnt have the most boring performance. They had many set changes and the lighting was crazy. Also, people say they don't move around a lot, when in reality they're always running around. They have ramps and stuff and they're always changing things up. Most boring there? hard to say. Probably SoaD.

When I saw them they had the lights, a little fog around the drum kit, and the flying skull, but other than that they just kind of skulked around the stage a little.

DragonForce actually put on the best show.

I didnt get to see DF, but from what I've heard they put on pretty good shows. CoB and LoG are probably the best I've seen, they play with such unmatched intensity.

EDIT: Oh, and Mudvaynian, I do agree with you that MoP is probably the most hated and loved album, but this sure gives it a run for its money, especially since most haters ive talked to are just arrogant propagandists. This Message Edited On 03.05.07

DF would be spectacular if their guitar players didn't make the pac man sounds.

Okay Pike,You're right about how "demanding" the shows are.

I'd like to see A7X live, even though I've grown off of them quite a bit. And just for the sake of conversation, Children of Bodom was the second best metal act I've ever seen live (in terms of playing, energy, adrenaline levels skyrocketing, etc) behind Iron Maiden.

I'd love to see A7X live. Though i don't listen to them as much as I used to, this album and Wakin g the Fallen are both amazing albums.

I'd love to see COB live as well. They're my favorite band. They sounded awesome on the Chaos Ridden Years DVD.

What's funny is my lead singer says "they are horrible live!"

What's funny is that they arent horrible at all.

There's only one thing that makes these guys' live performance a little disappointing. It's when Zacky tries to sing backup. It contrasts with shadow's voice and brings it all down. But other than that, everything is on point and sounds great.

I heard a couple of songs on here and I kinda liked it. It had some cool riffs and the songs were pretty catchy. Nothing id listen to evry day tho.

Hahahahaha, how is this, in any way, heavy/power metal???

Technically, it is heavy metal in a similar vein to Judas Priest. I think the power metal parallels are being drawn because the music is much more melodic than a lot of their contemporaries.
