I just got all of their B-side cover songs for this...pretty entertaining
They covered Siouxsie and the Banshees' "Pulled To Bits"... Nick Drake's "Things Behind The Sun"...

Yes. That's how goddamn awesome those songs were. And yeah, it is a little high. I meant to change it, I never did.

I love The Mars Volta, and pretty much everything they've done.
I love how it sounds like Cedric sings "I have a penis that can rip through the very fabric of time" in "Conjugal Burns".
But I don't understand what their reasoning behind "Tourniquet Man" was. It's the worst song ever recorded by anyone. Why?

There are some seriously intense moments on this album, especially on Ilyena and Goliath. It starts off insanely strong. It kind of trails off towards the end, but Conjugal Burns pretty much makes up for the few bad tracks on here.

Each song individually on this are awesome, as a whole though I start to get a headache

Yeah, I'll go out on a limb and say this is their second best, after Frances.
I enjoy everything except Tourniquet Man and to an extent Aberinkula. Every member is just so tight in their role, even the bass, something sometimes lacking on TMV.

I was considering lowering this to a 4, but I've been listening to it over and over again and am reobsessed.

If you could see where I've been
You'd touch the hand that's touching sin
I like this better than De-Loused I think, and it's getting very close to Frances. This is so much better than I initially thought, every song rocks so god damn hard.
