this was one of the first albums that i knew all the words to every song, at the age of 11. this hands down on of the greatest albums ever recorded. Also for the time period it came out gave it more attention.

Seriously a 1?

Album Rating: 1.0
Yeah, and I promise I'm not trying to be different. It's just one of those love-it-or-hate-it albums I guess.
|
| |
What do you hate about it so much you think it warrants a 1?

Album Rating: 4.5
No. it's not. It's a love album. There's no way to hate this. Crazy kids and their crazy thoughts.

Stan is one of the greatest songs ever recorded in recent times, fact

You'd have to be on the verge of clinical retardation to give this a 1.

you probably think im in your tape deck now
im in the backseat of your truck with duct tape stretched out
|
| |
Came home, and somebody musta broke in the back window
and stole two loaded machine guns and both of my trenchcoats
Sick sick dreams of picnic scenes, two kids, sixteen
with M-16's and ten clips each
And them shits reach through six kids each
And Slim gets blamed in Bill Clint's speech to fix these streets?
FUCK THAT! You faggots can vanish to volcanic ash
and re-appear in hell with a can of gas, AND a match.

Several things... mostly his voice. I personally can't stand it and it's doubtful I would be able to rate anything he does in that style over a 1.5 or 2. Also, the skits were stupid and unnecessary and I think the lyrics throughout are terrible. I think it's dumb that he keeps bringing race into things and how he can rap even though he's white. I'm not bothered by profanity or anything, but it seems like he goes out of his way to use it even more than he would naturally to the point where it seems like it's unnatural and just being used to sell more records to 10-16 year old audiences. I even thought "Stan" was a little bit corny how it ended... as if he didn't make the connection that the kid he was writing and the kid on the news were the same until the end of his letter.

Well I'm sure other people brought race into it and he just responds to it in his songs but I still don't like listening to it. And O.J., I'm not saying it should be a 1 rating for everyone just because I rated it a 1. Music is subjective and if you like this, more power to ya. I wasn't trying to convince anybody lol
