I gotta listen to this soon. I've been so caught up with newer "Cascadian" bands like Ash Borer and Fell Voices that I haven't listened to any WITTR for a while.

I agree. Bands like this, Agalloch, and early Ulver are for days like Noctus mentioned. Bands like Coldworld and Paysage d'Hiver are winter bands.

i tend to go a bit post-rock obsessed in the winter for some reason, rather than wintry bands. but I'm Noctus and I make little sense.

see, it does mix with the harsh weather after all. autumn rain is better put.

and i second the post-rock urges during this season

But you can't have post-rock without mixing the black metal in!

Love this album for early Spring. But I prefer Darkthrone and Vordr for Winter (or James Harrison
comparisons, Brutebeard).

I agree, but throw on anything from Folklore through the White EP on while driving during a snowstorm and it's a fucking epiphany

Agalloch is good for fall and winter. Can't think of much metal that's good for spring/summer. Torche comes to mind.

@ Defeater - That's a very good point. I wish I had a physical copy of Pale Folklore because I'm gonna be driving through a fucking blizzard to work at 3 in the morning.

I have a physical copy of Pale Folklore, actually found it at an FYE about two years ago.

And any good metalcore/death metal.

For some reason I like some Amon Amarth in the summer.

I think I'll get deeper into death metal when summer comes. Spent last summer getting into hardcore and this winter getting deeper into black, sludge, and post-metal.
