It's still like 40 here. Not bad as long as the sun is shining though.

I maintain that 60-70 is the best temperature for outside. You can be comfortable in a flannel and long pants, or shorts and a t shirt. Once you pass 70 flannel is too warm, and below 60 shorts are too cold

the production on this makes it almost unlistenable which is kinda weird given that this is their first 'studio' record

I have no idea why this album has a significantly lower average than other BTMI. It's like the most straight up punk thing Jeff ever did and maybe that's why people don't think it's as good I guess but it's why it's one of my personal favorite things he's ever done. Just full-length punk songs with great lyrics, moments, and interesting progressions. The only one that really deviates from this is the closer which is just the kind of closer you want after the title track, this nice little melancholic acoustic thing to close out the record.

i think get warmer is quite obviously less punk than the bomb albums that came before it. it's more cleanly produced, hooky/sing-songy, and most of all, it's largely deprived of the hardcore influences that persisted through the preceding albums (nothing more punk than all those hardcore freakouts from bomb's early days like "showerbeers" and "old and unprofessional" and "beard of defiance"). get warmer is definitely still a punk record--plenty of the songs are rooted in straight power chord riffs--but it's a bit more mild and digestible, so the indie rock, songwriting-focused side of jeff shines through a little more than on the earlier records where it was obscured by crazy unhinged spontaneous punk freakouts.

btw having recently joined the jeff shitposting group on fb, i've noticed that there's kinda an understanding among many fans that get warmer is supposed to be like one of the best btmi albums, whereas on here and rym, it's held in the opposite regard (as one of the worst ones). dunno why theres this weird disconnect between fanbases but i feel like theres waaaaaay more all-time great bomb songs on all the other albums than there are on this one. lotta forgettable ones here imo; its overall quality is just lower than the other albums. the songs on gcw are also not particularly memorable on their own but the reason that gcw is my favourite bomb album is that i think all those songs work together to form this single, really incredible piece of music, whereas get warmer kinda just feels like a run of pretty good but not GOAT songs that arent really connected together by an overarching framework or anything. it's not at all that get warmer is a bad album; it's just that the other albums are so good that they freaking dwarf this one.

I’m part of that group too dim, always find it strange when Get Warmer tops people’s Jeff rankings.
