I'm a drummer, and while I think jazz is somewhat hax compared most other styles, I think it's cool to have your mind blown from time to time, and it's always good to have something to strife for. Jazz/fusion drumming is just something else.

Jojo Mayer is my #1. Im not a fan of his 'drum and bass' style as shown in 'Nerve', but I praise what he did for 'Screaming Headless Torsos'

What I've seen/heard of Jojo Mayer is pretty impressive. And I agree on Chambers and Weckl, but these are the ones who belong to the semi-hax category, but nontheless, fantastic drummers. But how about Vinnie Colaiuta?

Jethro, if you havent checked out 'I'm Tweeked' by Colaiuta, please do yourself the favor. I always watch that vid with my mind kind of blown.
And I guess a 'drum thread', which is still musically related, is still more appropriate than some of these worthless spam-filled 2000+ comment threads ;-)
