The anime is fucking awful imo. Digimon surprisingly held up decently, but goddamn the Pokemon anime sucks. Even the Magmar v. Charizard battle, which was pretty much the coolest thing ever, was underwhelming.



Also I agree with Viral, the anime has gotten better. I don't watch anything but a few of the big battles. And goddamn the Ash vs. Paul (his rival) battle in the Sinnoh league was fucking awesome. All sorts of "PIKACHU AIM FOR THE HORN" out-of-box ideas except they actually make sense.
